Metallica Kill Em All Vinyl
November 2, 2009
Kill 'Em All is the debut album by Metallica, it features classic tracks such as Whiplash and Seek & Destroy which still get regular play in their live concerts. The initial album was recorded on a small budget over only a few weeks. There have been many versions of this album on vinyl, various picture disks are available, there is a rare Japanese version printed in 84. The most recent print of this vinyl was the US limited edition 10-track LP pressed on 33rpm 180gram Half Speed Mastered at Mobile Fidelity from the original analog master tapes. As a fan of the band you need to hear this raw album on vinyl, it takes you back into the 80's and is a pure audio experience.

Metallica Ride the Lightning Vinyl
November 2, 2009
Ride the Lightning was Metallica's 2nd studio released on July 27, 1984. Highlight tracks include "For Whom The Bells Tolls", "Fade To Black" and "Creeping Death". This is a classic metal album, commonly referred to as one of the top 5 metal songs of all time. From time to time you will find rare picture discs of this vinyl floating around on Ebay, and there are some international releases of the vinyl, namely the Japanese version pictured below. Creeping Death was also released as a vinyl single on a picture disc, and this pops up for sale from time to time. A great album, that must be heard on vinyl.

Metallica Master of Puppets Vinyl
October 31, 2009
Master of Puppets is the third album by Metallica released on March 3, 1986. The album features singles: "Master of Puppets", "Battery", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)". This was my first Metallica album. I became a huge fan, and have never looked back. This album, like the 2 before it is a great metal album, that needs to be experienced in it's pure form, on vinyl. There is a picture disc + a few other rare versions of this vinyl, and the most common version you will find around in shops and on ebay is the 2008 re-release. Get it already!

Metallica …And Justice for All Vinyl
October 31, 2009
…And Justice for All is the fourth album by Metallica released on August 25, 1988. This is the first Metallica studio album to feature bassist Jason Newsted, after former bassist Cliff Burton died. Highlights for me are "One", "Harvester Of Sorrow", and the title track ".. And Justice For All". Newsted brought a different sound to the band. On the original release of this album, and the original release of the vinyl Newsted was mixed very low...quite the insult to their new bass player. This album is very heavy, and dark. The band was getting through a tough time, take a look at the mug shots on the back sleeve. Still a great album, and worth purchasing to hear the track one, if for nothing else.

Metallica Black Album Vinyl
October 31, 2009
Metallica or The Black Album is the fifth album by band released August 13, 1991. The album features songs that are considered today as Metallica's most well-known tracks, with songs such as "Enter Sandman", "The Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters". This album is the band's best-selling album to date, with over 15 million copies sold in the United States and over 25 million copies worldwide. This is the album that brought Metallica to the masses, with songs like Enter Sandman having genuine main stream radio playability. It's hard to argue that this album isn't great, so owning it on vinyl is a must for any collector.

Metallica Load Vinyl
October 31, 2009
Load is the sixth studio album by Metallica, released June 4, 1996. It was a change in direction for the band, with all members of the band getting hair cuts, and the album was more of an alternative rock album, rather than metal. Because of the the band were criticized by some. The highlight tracks for me are "Hero of the day" and "Bleeding me". I enjoy Metallica as an alternative rock band, and this album showcases more range from the band. The album cover is pretty disgusting, and is a combination of semen and cows blood. The vinyl is a little nothing too spacial, and there aren't any variants, singles, or colour versions, as vinyl for the main stream had well and truly been replaced by CD at this point.

Metallica Reload Vinyl
October 31, 2009
ReLoad is the seventh album by Metallica, released November 18, 1997. Highlights for me include "The Memory Remains" and "The Unforgiven II". Reload was a follow up album to Load, which was originally intended to be a double album release. As with Load, this album has much more of an alternative rock sound. If you are looking for something different I suggest trying to find a Japanese import of this album. My copy sounds great.

Metallica St Anger Vinyl
October 31, 2009
St. Anger is the eighth studio album by Metallica, released on June 5, 2003. The first 3 tracks are the best on this album, but this has to be my least favorite Metallica album. The band was going through another transitional period, as Newsted departed after Reload. For this album the band recorded with producer Bob Rock playing Bass, and then hired Robert Trujillo to tour the album. The drama that surrounded the recording of the album was made into a movie available on DVD name "Some Kind of Monster". Vinyl-vise the album features some pretty cool artwork, a bit more metal. The sound of this album was more of a metal sound, but the mixing is very unusual, very rough sound. Even though the music on this album is not Metallica's finest, it is still a Metallica album, and is a nice addition to any vinyl collection.

Metallica Death Magnetic Vinyl
October 31, 2009
Death Magnetic is the ninth album by Metallica, released on September 12, 2008. This album was hailed as a true return of the band band to Metal. The band makes no attempt to be anything other than a heavy metal band on this album, and it features rich lengthy solos, and a very dark heavy sound. There is a very nice vinyl box set for Death magnetic (See images below), and I have put up some German vinyl releases, which I suspect may be bootlegs, but they look pretty cool anyway, you can find all of them on Ebay.
